The identification tag issued by the City in respect of a dog or cat is not transferable.
The new owner will need to register their new pet and can do so by:
- Going online at ottawa.ca through the My ServiceOttawa application
- Attending in-person at any Client Service Centre(link is external) or at the Walter Baker Sports Centre(link is external)
- Calling 613-580-2424 extension 12735.
A new tag number will be issued. Previous owner does not need to provide anything in writing.
