Narration: Apply online and invite additional parties to access Building Permit applications through the new Building, Planning and Land Development online customer portal on My ServiceOttawa. Start using it today for all your Building Code Services needs.
Narration: For Construction related permits and Master Plans, a voluntary submission step of Additional Parties will be available for completion, providing individuals or other Professionals or Contractors permission to access your application.

Narration: Once the steps one through six have been fully completed on your building permit application, you will be at step 7, Additional parties.

Narration: On the Additional Parties page, an individual or business can be added to your application, providing them with permissions to either make payments, conduct reviews, or request inspections on your behalf.
Narration: Before an Individual or Business can be added to your application, they must first have an existing My ServiceOttawa account. Only registered Businesses with My ServiceOttawa will be able to be found during the search.

Narration: To add an individual as an additional party, select the Individual () radio button, select an option from the “Acting as” drop-down list and complete their contact information.

Narration: When adding a Business type, enter the business’s name in the “Search for a Business …” field and select the magnifying icon. If the search results in multiple Businesses, check the correct one and select the “Select” button.

Narration: Selecting the “Acting as” field will allow you to choose an option from the list provided.

Narration: The added party will appear in the Invited Parties grid, deeming the invitation was sent successful. You can add as many parties as are required.

Narration: to immediately edit added parties, select the edit icon in the far-right column. Here, permissions can be updated, invitations can be resent, or the party can be completely removed.

Narration: The next step in this process is to read and acknowledge the disclaimer. Once this is complete, check the box confirming your acknowledgment and select the submit button.

Narration: Additional parties can also be added after an application has been submitted by selecting the application from the Applications tab on the Home dashboard.

Narration: At the bottom of the Activities page, an Additional Parties tab is located. New parties can be added with the Add Party button, or existing parties can be edited or removed with the edit icon.

Narration: Selecting the “Click here to accept or decline the invitation” link will take the party into their My ServiceOttawa account. If logged in, the Invitation to Permit Application page will be accessed. Party permissions given on the application are outlined and the Accept or Decline invitation buttons are available. This link is for one-time use only access and will be deactivated once the invitation is accepted.
