How do I create and manage my account as a professional or contractor?

Creating and managing a professional or contractor account can be done by logging into your My ServiceOttawa account and accessing the Building, planning and land development widget.

Narrator: Apply online from any location for a Building Code Services, permit or application through the My Service Ottawa Customer Portal.

Narrator: To create a Professionals/Contractors account, log in to your MY SERVICE OTTAWA account.

Narrator: Under the Building Code Services Home Page, select the Professionals/Contractors tab.

Narrator: To add a contractor, you can either manually enter the Professionals/Contractors PIN and then select the Associate button, or you can select Register New.

Narrator: This will take you to the Details page where you will be able to fill out all the professional or contractor details. Fields with a red asterisk are required to be filled in.

Narrator: Start by adding your Business Name

Narrator: Under Contact Information, you also have the option to add in Phone number details. [Video: Contact information page is shown. Primary Phone number 613 580 2424 is typed in]

Narrator: For preferred method of contact, you have the choice of selecting either Email or Postal Mail.

Narrator: Select Add mailing address and select an Address type.

Narrator: Select the Search for Address bar and type in the address you are using. Make sure fields such as City/Town, Province, and Postal Code are filled in. Once completed, select the Ok icon

Narrator: Choose the PRIMARY address by selecting the check box beside the address on the right side of the screen. Select the save button.

Narrator: Scroll to the to the top of the screen and select the Home tab on the navigation bar.

Narrator: Then select the Professionals/contractors tab and your new associate will be registered.

Narrator: Select the professional contractor that you want to remove or disassociate with by selecting the check box beside their name.

Narrator: A red Remove from Account button will be activated in the top right-hand corner. Select the box and the associate will be deleted.

Narrator: A notification will appear at the top of the page confirming the “Company name was removed from your account”

Narrator: Navigate to the Professionals/Contractors tab under the Building Code Services Home Page.

Narrator: Select the hyperlink of the professional or contractor you wish to view.

Narrator: This will bring you to the details page. You may add or update information about this associate.
Narrator: Next, select the Associated Accounts tab. At least one associated account must be granted the permission to Manage all areas of the account.

Narrator: For LMS Architects, there are three associated accounts: Jackk Training, Jannee Training and Madiee Training. Jackk training has been granted manage permissions.

Narrator: To revoke permissions, select the account of your choosing, then select the Revoke all permissions icon. Select revoke all permissions once more to confirm. Permissions cannot be revoked for a single process step. They will need to be added back individually.

Narrator: To change an associate’s access to a certain step in the application process, select the check box beside their name. Multiple buttons will become available.

Narrator: You also have the option to grant permission for certain tasks. For example, to grant permission to PAY, select the Grant Pay button. This associate will now be is able to make payments on behalf of the associated account. A check mark will appear under the Pay column.

Narrator: Other permissions can be granted, such as Upload Files, which can be done by selecting the Grant Upload Files icon.

Narrator: Select Save when completed.

Narrator: To delete an account, select the check box beside the account name, then select the Remove Account icon.

Narrator: Once complete, a notice will appear to confirm if you want to remove the account. Select the Remove Account button. The account will no longer be associated with your company
